Procedure to recycle a DSL Modem.

1• Determine if you have a router or not.

    • If you have more than one computer sharing the connection &/or if you have a second box next to the DSL modem, you have probably a modem & a router
    • If you only have one computer and you have a single box, you have probably a modem only

Be aware that some modem CAN BE BOTH. If this is the case, and have only one box, apply the procedure for a modem only.

2• While leaving all the cables CONNECTED, identify the power supply (the wire that goes to the power plug) from the modem, and from the router, if any.

3• Disconnect the POWER(and nothing else) from the MODEM and from the ROUTER, if any.

4• Wait AT LEAST 2 (TWO) full minutes. Longer if you want or need to, not LESS.

5• Reconnect the MODEM ONLY.

6• Wait AT LEAST 1 (ONE) full minute. Longer if you want or need to, not LESS.

7• If you have a MODEM ONLY, a.k.a. NO ROUTER, skip to point 10.

8• Now reconnect the ROUTER. Leave everything else untouched.

9• Wait AT LEAST 1 (ONE) full minute. Longer if you want or need to, not LESS.

10• Try to connect to the internet. If successful, you are done. If not, reboot the PC, then try again.

11• If still not connecting, call 972-800-2150 for help.

Good Luck.
